Espacement

The flattening of the digital world crushes time into a presentism, a reductive immanentism. By redeploying the fragments of time, like opening a fan, succession reasserts its rights, and so do rhythms.

Digital print on Hahnemuhle Art paper, 150 x 50 x 170

This work offers an inverted vision of frames to restore depth, height, and thickness to space and duration to time. This creation disrupts perspective by causing the viewer’s eye and body to circulate, to move through the superposition of images presented horizontally, in a spaced-out stratification. This creation is a reaction against the fact that what lies below remains invisible in digital space or is only accessible by scrolling.
